Medical alertIf you are looking for a fall detector, or what is commonly referred to as a medical alert system, than be sure to do your homework and research all the available options on the market. Many companies provide these personal emergency response systems, but the feature list and benefits from each service provided differ greatly between each provider. Some medical alert systems are based on a phone that is to be worn by the elderly individual, but his might not suit everyone, as some elderly individuals are actually averse to this type of technology, and would rather just have a panic button attached to some part of their body, like on a chain of sorts. These type of phones have an auto dial facility, when the elderly person has fallen they can contact for help. Obviously this means that the user needs to be able to access the telephone, and with some falls, the user is incapacitated, and even though the user has the phone on them, they are not able to place the call to the emergency response units, thus defeating the purpose of these systems. Sometimes, the user has fainted or fallen and hit their head, and thus cannot remember how to use the phone, or even that they have a phone available to them.
