Some medical alert systems are based on a phone that is to be worn by the elderly individual, but his might not suit everyone, as some elderly individuals are actually averse to this type of technology, and would rather just have a panic button attached to some part of their body, like on a chain of sorts. These type of phones have an auto dial facility, when the elderly person has fallen they can contact for help.
